2018 marks the 5th anniversary of the City of Sumter Mayor’s Christmas Card Contest.
Students in Elementary and Middle School all across the Sumter School District submitted their artwork for consideration. This year, like years past, we received so many entries, add that to our 5th anniversary, so we decided to do something a little different and chose one winner from each grade, with top two winners from this list chosen to be included on the City’s card.
The following students were honorable mentions in their grade level and each received a framed image of their drawing with a $20 gift card:
Kindergarten: Sophia Coughlin, Cherryvale Elementary
1st Grade: Aiden Tolson, Kingsbury Elementary
2nd Grade: Abbigail Grossman, Kingsbury Elementary
3rd Grade: Brianna Riley, Cherryvale Elementary
4th Grade: Ebony Osborne, Rafting Creek Elementary
5th Grade: McKayla Mouradjian, Wilder Elementary
7th Grade: Benjamin Morrow, Alice Drive Middle
The two top winners were chosen from the entire group with their drawings showcased on the Mayor’s 2018 Christmas card. Congratulations go to:
6th Grade: Murrin Reed, Alice Drive Middle
8th Grade: Kali Katz, Alice Drive Middle
We would like to extend a special thank you to our partners on this contest, the Sumter School District for helping to coordinate this effort and to Farmer’s Telephone Cooperative, who have supplied our two top prizes tonight for our card winners, an Apple iPad.
Thank you to all who entered and congratulations to all of these very talented artists!
