SUMTER, SC (June 15, 2018) â The Sumter City-County Planning Department, in advance of the Sumter 2040 Comprehensive Plan Process, has developed a Community Survey in an effort to solicit input from the Sumter Community.
The brief survey is designed to ask for public input on the planning, zoning, and development issues facing the City and County today and into the future. The survey asks questions about how Sumter citizens feel about development, their priorities about the environment, and the condition of their neighborhoods.
âThis survey will be used during the planning process to gauge citizen attitudes about planning issues,â said George McGregor, Planning Director. âThe results of the survey will be used to help shape the future vision for the Sumter community, which will help guide new development projects in both the City and County.â
The survey can be found online at www.sumter2040.com. Links to the survey are also available from the City of Sumter (www.sumtersc.gov) and Sumter County (www.sumtercountysc.org) websites. Hard copies of the survey are also available at numerous locations around the community, including City Hall, County Administration Building, Planning Office, HOPE Centers, South Sumter Resource Center, the Sumter County Library and the Swan Lake Visitors Center.
The survey can be dropped off or mailed to the Planning Department at 12 West Liberty Street Sumter, SC 29150. It can be faxed to 803-774-1687 or emailed to gmcgregor@sumtersc.gov. All surveys should be completed by August 30, 2018.
