SUMTER, SC (September 13, 2016) â Palmetto Tennis Center is hosting a Rally for the Cure! Mayorâs Rally for the Cure on Saturday, September 24, 2016 will begin at 9 AM.
Rally for the Cure is a grass roots program that works to educate women about breast cancer and remind them to get their annual screening through volunteer organized tennis and social events. More than 2 million people have participated in Rally events across the nation since its inception in 1996. This year marks the second year the Palmetto Tennis Center has rallied against breast cancer and invites women and their families and friends to join them on Saturday, September 24.
The Palmetto Tennis Center has posted the minimum donation information of an entry fee of $23.00 for the Rally, with the USTA online easy access, and invites ALL levels of players to come out and play! All proceeds will be donated. As a special thank you for participating; community Sponsor Hamptons Restaurant will provide each player rallying for the cure one admission ticket to the annual Oktoberfest on Main Street, downtown Sumter. Festivities begin at 5 PM, Saturday evening September 24.

Prizes will be awarded to the winner of the events and each participant will receive a goody bag with important breast health information and other Rally items.

The event is a fun and healthy way for us to bring together our local players and the community as well as invite our statewide friends to join us to support an important cause while playing a sport they are passionate about,â says Mayor Joe McElveen.

The Palmetto Tennis Center is located inside Palmetto Park in Sumter, South Carolina. It boasts 24 state of the art tennis courts and is lit for night play. Three on-site tennis pros offer private lessons and group clinics for beginner to advanced players from ages three and up.
