June 1 is the start of hurricane season in South Carolina. Remember to create or update your emergency kits. Write down your emergency numbers and keep them in your kit. Additionally, the Santee-Lynches Regional Council of Governments is updating the Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan for Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee, and Sumter counties.
