SUMTER, SC – A public participation meeting will be held on September 1, 2015, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Patriot Hall ( 135 Haynsworth Street) for the Sumter Historic District Traffic Calming Study.
Stantec, the consulting firm hired by the City of Sumter to manage the process, will discuss the traffic calming project scope and some of the issues identified by the public to date.
George McGregor, Planning Director, said that the public open house “is intended to examine the transportation issues facing the historic district neighborhood by connecting directly with the residents who live there.”
General public will have the opportunity to express their ideas and opinions on how to improve the transportation system for all modal users in the Historic District.
Any comments or questions should be sent to George McGregor, Planning Director or Allan Yu, Senior Transportation Planner at ayu@sumter-sc.com .
